Equality & Diversity 

We will ensure that at every level, in all our work and through all aspects of the school community and its life, everyone will be treated equally, reflecting the Single Equality Act 2010. We will not discriminate against the protected characteristics: age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation. We do this by ensuring our Equality & Diversity Policy is regularly reviewed and updated.

Please see the policies page ( a link to the latest version of our Equality & Diversity Policy which has been sent to our families and staff for their consideration and feedback. This consultation process was completed in the Spring Term of 2020-21. 

The Equality Objectives are set out below and are also included within the policy. 

Floreat Wandsworth’s Equality Objectives 

The Equality Act 2010 sets out that all public bodies will publish equalities objectives every four years. Below are the equalities objectives that we have chosen to focus on over the next four years, from 2020 to 2024, to improve equality, diversity and inclusion at Floreat Wandsworth. 

2020 to 2024

Objective 1

To ensure an Equality Policy (to be reviewed and completed by December 2020) sets out our commitment to promoting equality and community cohesion and eliminating discrimination and harassment.

Objective 2

To reach and include every family equally and ensure fairness in access and engagement.

Objective 3

To monitor and analyse pupil achievement and attainment by race, gender and disability and act on any trends or patterns in the data that require additional support for pupils.

Objective 4

To recognise and celebrate diversity within our community whilst promoting community cohesion.

Objective 5

To ensure that teaching and learning promotes equality, celebrates diversity and promotes community cohesion.


2015 to 2019

Objective 1

To monitor the consideration given to accessibility when purchasing equipment and resources for the school.

Objective 2

To monitor extra-curricular provision and ensure there is membership of vulnerable or isolated groups in after school club provision and that the provision is accessible to all.

Objective 3

To assess and evaluate the school’s methods of communication to ensure information is accessible to all parents and carers.

Objective 4

To reach and to include every family equally, in all of the ways families are invited to actively join in learning with the school.
